Dukes Hazzard
Perhaps the worst enemy of a free people and democracy throughout the world is the dark force of evil that we have all come to know as political correctness. The best way to describe the political correctness would be to compare the Pharisees of the day, Jesus took the Ten Commandments and tons created detailed rules and regulations to accompany to commands that no one can keep all the commandments. The Pharisees had heard so much as walking too far, or lift just about everything has been considered as poor if you did that on the Sabbath. The same thing happened during the first days of the United States when George Washington experienced problems with his horse on Sunday for the important cases. In some places, over time, even kissing his wife in public on Sunday could get put in stockades.
Today, almost impossible to see America or other democratic countries, going to religious principles to be extreme at the same point here is that the Pharisees, for many years but instead of God, given the excuse to go to the ends of public policy, political correctness has relay.
Recently, the United Kingdom, channel Boomerang has agreed in the initial complaint from one person to edit smoking scenes cartoon Tom and Jerry. Popeye better care is likely to come. On one occasion, Cartoon Network has banned virtually Speedy Gonzales cartoons because it might be offensive to people of Mexican origin, although in countries of America, Speedy was a character designer hosted the most popular.
With this type of mentality, you can see how our hands are tied when it comes to security. We know that terrorism is mainly the Middle East, and in order not to offend Middle Eastern origin, body searches at airports so far as to examine the girls 12 years, and even Al Gore was recorded simultaneously to avoid any appearance of bias or racial profiling.
Do not get me wrong, I do not want my child to smoking, or anyone who looks like they are in the Middle East be imprisoned or harassed, but a little common sense goes a long way. Editing classic cartoons is simply stupid, and if Al Gore is a political favorite, really do not think it will be carrying a bomb on an airplane, right?
Take TV classics as F-Troop that was recently released on DVD. It is also for families that you can get, but it has been almost nonexistent in television stations. Even TVLand has shown some episodes here and there in recent years. Is it because American Indians have shown a sense of humor? Do not know about you, but the interesting would play, if only white Americans allowed to participate in order to avoid any possible offense to a minority? After seeing the rel = "nofollow" href = "http://www.tvcrazy.net/videos/westerns/f-troop.htm"> F-Troop episodes on DVD, I can only say that it is a great pleasure. Everybody falls, everybody does something stupid, Indian or Calvary. It's comedy. The comedy is not supposed to be serious.
Bewitched will be next? It could be offensive to they say being witches. It is incredible to see Dukes of Hazzard has been able to defeat the network of political correctness with the Confederate flag. Granny same ruthless like the Beverly Hillbillies was radical enough to carry a Confederate flag in defiance of his arrogant neighbor Mrs. Drysdale. Are these scenes must be edited out? For years, critics have tried to keep Bugs Bunny and the peak and rock band anvils on the heads of their fellow cartoon characters. Remember how boring some of the cartoons set in the 1970s when no one could hit someone? How Superfriends Superman could have been better to actually hit Lex Luthor instead of talking about death?
Life is too short to take too seriously. Maybe political correctness is exactly the opposite of his intention. After all, I think everyone can hear much better if we learn to laugh at the other only a little. It's hard to hate someone who makes you smile. So let's see F-Troop, Speedy Gonzales, and even Popeye laugh. Just say no to their children to smoke after the show.
